Scottsdale-based QCM successfully meets criteria established by National Minority Supplier Development Council
Scottsdale, AZ – July 10, 2008 -QCM Technologies, Inc., an Arizona-based IBM Premier Business Partner and a provider of hardware and software business solutions, announced today that it has been re-certified as a “Minority Owned Business Enterprise” (MBE) by the Grand Canyon Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. Certification entitles QCM to be listed in the national database of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). This database can be accessed by 39 regional minority-purchasing councils and hundreds of corporations across the country.
“The goal of achieving and maintaining the MBE certification has been an important component of our overall business strategy, and is an important part of our efforts to help our clients to meet their business objectives,” said QCM Technologies President Jorge Quintero. “Organizations that have made a commitment to work with minority businesses, now know that by working with QCM they are building diversity within their network of suppliers and business partners, while they receive first-rate service from an organization they have come to trust.
“At the same time, we are looking forward to capitalizing on the MBE certification by reaching out to new customers and prospects who make use of the NMSDC Membership Directory,” Quintero added.
“This certification recognizes QCM as a bona-fide minority-owned business and as an organization that is willing to make the endeavor to fulfill the council’s stringent requirements for designation as an MBE,” said Ron Williams, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Grand Canyon Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. “We are very proud to work with professional organizations such as QCM and to help them develop as major players within our local and national economy. Mr. Quintero’s firm represents the target market of successful firms that we are designed to take to the next level.”
The NMSDC has standardized procedures to assure consistent and identical review and certification of minority-owned businesses. A minority-owned business is a for-profit enterprise, regardless of size, physically located in the United States or its trust territories, that is owned, operated and controlled by minority group members. “Minority group members” are United States citizens who are Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American. Ownership by minority individuals means the business is at least 51% owned by such individuals or, in the case of a publicly-owned business, at least 51% of the stock is owned by one or more such individuals. Further, the management and daily operations are controlled by those minority group members.
